The Devaluation of Links

May 2nd, 2006
SEO word map

While surfing the blogosphere I came across an article summarizing the development of the internet and how it was originally dominated by technical geeks but will now be dominated by relationship geeks. It mentions LinkedIn.com which I’ve pimped many times on my blog. I still haven’t found a job through it though.

I found this article through Church of the Customer which did a bad thing in my mind and used frames or something to keep it’s URL in my browser window. I had to open the page in a new window to get my link. Though the author of the article thinks courteous links are going the way of the dodo. Given how Google works I don’t think regular links and search engine optimization or search engine spaming is quite dead yet.
