I was hanging out over at Bolter and Chainsword while I should have been looking for a job and was looking through their Chaos Codex Rumor thread, I came across this link which might have the most details yet.

You can’t believe every rumor you hear, nor everything your read on the internet.

Chaos models are in the 40K Sneak Peeks section of GW US’s website however.

Does anyone know the date the new Chaos Codex will be released? September, but September what?

I put a lot of time and effort updating the Diseased Sons for 4th Edition and the current Chaos Codex. This includes many custom one off conversions which if rumors are to be believed will be illegal in the new Chaos Codex.

Despite all the setbacks in my life, I’m still thinking of entering West Coast Mayham if I can get a ticket to the 40K tournament. I can’t paint or playtest anything using the new rules in time for this event which is September 15th so I would prefer the new Chaos Codex to come out after September 15th.

I went to friggin’ Metrotown and talked to random GW staffers. If they are to be believed, the army box set deal which will include the book at around $250 dollars will be available around September 1st in Canada. The book sold individually will be on store shelves about a month later…

Also in Google I discovered yet another big rumor/discussion thread, and I bought a few models, some which will be useful in the new rules, some of which have been written out of the new rules.

I’m also dismayed at the lack of blisters, I mean if you just want a single special weapon or heavy weapon guy you shouldn’t have to buy a box…

I bought the White Dwarf today, the Canadian issue for August 2007, and it says the Chaos Space Marine army set is available August 25th for $275.00. More importantly the Codex is available on September 15th for $35.00.

I’m going to use the current Codex at West Coast Mayhem, but I’ve been given some thought to how I would use the new rules to make some cool new units. Another option for Lost and the Damned Players or people who are less than thrilled with the new rules is the Renegades list in IA5.
