My BOB Job

Building Opportunities with Business logo

I wrote a posting with this exact title a few months back but I deleted it at some point, probably for the best, hopefully this one is less bitter. I’ve just completed the probation period of my latest job as Industry Initiative Coordinator at Building Opportunities with Business. This means I’ve worked six whole months since I finished my last MBA class in January of 2006.

Of course some people will probably not believe that, but I’ve updated my resume and my LinkedIn profile so the truth is plain for all to see. It is still the official opinion of the Sauder School of Business and the University of British Columbia that I must be lying, even after over three years.

People still don’t believe me, they don’t care how much their words and actions hurt me, or how hard they made my life. They don’t want things to be better and they definitely didn’t treat me like a friend.

I always told everyone the truth at the Sauder School of Business. I always went out of my way to help all my MBA classmates, especially those who insisted they were my friends.

Why is that so hard to believe?

Update March 2015

Having battled depression for over ten years, I can not recommend blogging about your personal problems. Some people will never believe you and they just do not care how much their words and actions hurt you. I doubly do not recommend blogging about your personal problems while looking for work. Depression has left many gaps in my resume and I’ve never recovered from doing my MBA at the Sauder School of Business.
