The Internet Infographic

SEO Blackhat found this on Image Shack or something. I really don’t think the average English speaker realizes just how much of the web is already not in English and how much of the Web will not be in English in a few short years. English wasn’t a world language of diplomacy, trade, or science until fairly recently.

French was the language of diplomacy, trade has always necessitated communicating in foreign tongues, and science prior to the two World Wars was dominated by the German language. Chinese is the world’s most spoken language if you add all the dialects up and their character set is used by some other Asian countries, so learning Mandarin and kanji as the Japanese would say, would be wise. Now if only I was better at practicing what I preach. ;-)
