Music, Money, and the Macintosh

I like music, a lot. Other people like music too. You’ve got your musicians and your collectors. Often people who collect music can’t play an instrument, but sometimes people who really like music take up an instrument, start a band, make their own records… And I’m sure there are people who are excellent musicians but don’t own that many albums, though I can’t imagine why. New Mac shop in Beijing

I actually learned about this from Infinite Loop, Arstechnica’s Mac blog. The largest Macintosh store in China opened recently in Beijing. The Beijing Macintosh User Group has a blog entry about it. It actually wasn’t that hard to find Macintosh stuff in Beijing. There is a Applecare service depot as well which I visited several times because of hard drive woes. I swear I tried to contact the Beijing Macintosh User Group while I was in Beijing but I didn’t make it to any of their events, they weren’t the best at getting back to me.

Microsoft owns a lot of Macs

…then I’m really going to try and sleep again. Although I don’t read it regularly or subscribe to its RSS feed, I swung by the Apple Blog. It directed me to the blog of David Weise who was at Microsoft world headquarters not too long ago and saw a few Macs. I highly recommend clicking on this link if you are a Mac fan or just want to see what the world’s largest software company can afford to do.
