Once again I stayed up until 1:30 in the morning to watch a musical guest on Conan O’Brien. Yes once again I’m on the mailing list, this time the record company told me to check out Akron Ohio’s own the Black Keys…

I got an email today from Cathy Hendrix who is part of Ron’s management informing me he would be on TV, so I stayed up until 1:30 AM apparently to see Ron play on my birthday…

I never used to be much of a fan or South Park or even the Simpsons when they first came on the air. Now that I have a lot of time on my hands living in Deep Bay, I watch more TV and probably spend more time online than I ever have in my life. I don’t think it has been beneficial…

I watched his funeral the other day on TV. I missed much of the music but I caught Jesse Jackson’s and pretty much every other speech. I’m actually a big fan of the old school funk. James Brown isn’t a saint, he was domineering and undereducated. His songwriting was very organic, often he would come to the studio with a few scraps of lyrics and he would build the song up. He’d get the drummer going on the dishwasher rhythm, add in the bass, the chicka chicka guitar then have the horn section make up the bridge and the rest of their parts…

I just watched “The Big Lebowski” again. I was going to watch it last night, but I discovered my VCR was dead. My mom thinks it was killed by some sort of power surge as it has hardly been used. It wasn’t one of our recent storms, but rather died while I was in China. No one had noticed until now…
