Out of the blue I got another email inviting me to join another online social network. This time it was to join Facebook. Facebook has been around for a while, but it was elitist. You had to have a .edu email address to join in the beginning. I’m an alumnus of three different universities but I don’t have a .edu email address. Only American universities can use the .edu domain…

Yesterday I added a comment to my lengthy posting about looking for a job online linking to an interview Guy Kawasaki conducted with Libby Sartain a senior HR person at Yahoo! Today Guy shows how he would apply to an actual position at Yahoo! in the form of a cover letter and two sample resumes…

So I just got off the phone with the TA from my Theory of Investment class. I still don’t know my grade but it is conceivable that it will be my worst one, ie less than 84%. In fact if I was a gambling man I’d take that bet. One of the Chinese people I went out of my way to help was her husband. He had a really important interview with the British Embassy concerning a job and a scholarship to study abroad in England. The final interview was in English and I conducted some mock interviews and gave him some other tips…

This morning I helped the husband of the TA for my Theory of Investment class prepare for his upcoming job interview with the British Embassy. When I was back at Sauder I went to a number of PDP events and was pleased to learn that I knew what was what when it comes to resumes, cover letters, and interviews. I credit the co-op program of the Computer Science Department at UVIC for that. Of course I tried to help fellow MBA classmates as much as I could…
