Although my redesigned webpages only look and function a bit differently, under the hood I’ve added more structured metadata for Googlebot and his friends to find. Metadata isn’t new it has been around a long time on MacOS and online but spammers seriously abused both the keywords and description tag, to the point where Google now ignores both. Structured metadata is new formats, championed by industry heavyweights, to help make it easier to index and share content online…

I wasn’t the first to say it, but it is something I’ve noticed for a long time in my own social media usage, Twitter is #winning. Twitter has received a lot of credit for breaking news stories, for helping activists and rebels organize, and now it has become the favourite of marketers and sports fans…

I’m not sure when it happened, but in the last few days Facebook sharing, the little buttons under each blog post has been broken, throwing a little red “error”…

My blog is old. It has been online since 2005. Muschamp.ca has been online since 2002 and some of the HTML dates back to 1995 or close to it. I kept the old HTML online just for laughs. Before I went to Japan I adopted the still in-use pure CSS tab layout. I’ve tweaked it over the years, it used to validate but with all the PHP I’ve been adding and all the information I pull from other sources, I’m not sure what still validates…

And why do he and his buddies over at Caltrops.com find this acceptable online behaviour? Until this week I’d never bothered to read Caltrops.com or really look into who was running the website and why the hell they think they are so damn clever and superior to the rest of us lesser Internet users. Fussbett Sanitario seems particularly proud of his long association with Caltrops.com and is overly enamored with with the sound of his fingers hitting the keyboard. He’s also very attached to his online Internet handle and continually uses it or variants. He and his buddies also play online video games and chat using AOL Instant Messenger of all things.
