It took one presentation

It took one presentation at Tsinghua for me to gain a reputation as a good presenter. My insistance on using my Mac, combined with the fact I used desktop spanning and a remote control, two things not seen often by the masses aided my cause. Desktop spanning particularly confused my International Marketing professor who kept insisting it was not working, when what was on the projected screen wasn’t what I could see on my laptop. Many thought these were Mac only features, I’m sure some people must have desktop spanning on a Windows box, they just might not know how to use it.

Anyway that same professor has recommended me as a mentor to a group of Tsinghua undergraduates (mmm undergrads) who are going to enter a case competition in Hong Kong. They had sat in on my group’s presentation on a case concerning entering the Mexican market in a service industry. I wasn’t sure at first what they wanted from me. I think they just want general advice. I’m meeting with them on Thursday.
