Quotation Collection Mashup

Saturday, September 8th, 2012

I’m a collector. I’m not a hoarder because I display my collections. One of the things I’ve steadily collected over the last 15 or 20 years is quotations. Not “quotes”, quotes is a verb… These quotations were spread over journals, webpages, .sig files, and blog postings. As I had a lot of time on my hands I collected the best of the best of the best quotations into a single .csv (text) file. From this file and using quite a lot of ever more carefully written PHP I created my favourite quotation mashup. Update This bit of PHP code which […]

The Greatest Quotations of All Time!

Thursday, May 26th, 2011

As collected by me, curator of all things awesome.  Not only did I comb through a lifetime of quotations I’ve collected to bring you this top ten list.  I also made a web mashup out of a subset of the quotations I collected which you can play with. Although I took a long break I’m back to writing PHP. I’m still not enamored with PHP, but I’ve put too much time into it now to leave my code missing key features. The features I’ve been working on is support for collections of DVDs instead of just CDs. It will work for collections of anything, but I just decided to demo these two popular media formats…

Refactoring PHP Code

Saturday, February 19th, 2011

Refactoring PHP is not what I want to be doing now, or ever. I don’t like PHP. I never wanted to program in PHP. I’m just unemployed so I decided to build something and PHP is available on my webhost. Not finding very good examples or code out there I ended up writing a lot of PHP. So much I just started adding features and methods that might be of use to someone someday. I wrote the token tutorial but it hasn’t exactly set the web on fire. Too much work to get all the APIs to function, even building upon all my work for most wannabe web gurus.
