I wanted a new Mac, but I didn’t really have the money, so I upgraded my old laptop’s hard drive. Then on Wednesday this week, just after being admired for it’s size or lackof, the 12″ PowerBook up and died. I took it to Simply Computing and sure enough it needed a new logic board…

So I got an email from the TA of the Managing Global Innovation class today saying I did not submit a paper and they may have to give me zero. This would be laughably funny if it wasn’t so serious. I told Gary Lau my life only gets worse…

Hopefully a few people remember the whole hard drive fiasco. How I missed school, bought an external drive, backed up my data and left my laptop to be serviced. They supposedly ran an entire days worth of load testing on it and found no problems. Now it won’t start up and diskwarrior can’t find it either…

Although it was a while ago now and the pain has lessened. I was really worried my hard drive was going to die on me and I would be without my Mac for a considerable time. I actually backup, but my backups are in Canada. This means anything I’ve worked on since I was in China would be at risk. I did the best I could with my iPod but, the best solution would be to clone the entire drive in the PowerBook…
