Asia

I have lived, studied, and worked in Asia. Having worked in both Japan and China as well as for the Korean government I have a unique perspective. You can read about my travels to exotic destinations off the beaten path including: Hokkaido, Cambodia, and Yangshuo. I have also posted plenty of pictures to social media including foodporn and gym selfies.

In 2005 I was an MBA exchange student at the Tsinghua School of Economics and Management in Beijing. While a student I toured Baidu and attended a conference. Later while working in Shanghai I studied and passed all three CFA® exams. I also attend a comic con and a craft beer festival.

So if you have questions about living, working, studying or traveling in Asia you should peruse this archive of blog posts below or you can send me a question using email or social media.

5 Goats & 6 Banyans

Wednesday, November 18th, 2015

I was convinced to visit Guangzhou. However, I should have planned my trip better, taken more days off of work, done a loop of major cities in Guangdong, instead all I managed to do was take some pictures, buy scarves, and visit the Diaolou in Kaiping…

Photographing Shanghai’s Skyline

Tuesday, October 13th, 2015

I’ve spent a lot of time photographing Shanghai’s skyline and battling with the Great Firewall of China to upload some of those photos to Flickr, but I never really gave any useful advice on where to go to get the best pictures…
