Personal Improvement

Don’t we all want to be a little bit better? This blog was started during my MBA program and continued on through the CFA® program so there is a lot of career advice. Some of it is mine and some of it is from experts.

For a while I was forced to do a lot of self reflection, trying to figure out what really mattered to me and what I wanted to devote my limited time and energy towards. And although I ultimately sunk way too much time into this blog and my studies, I also read books, watched movies, saw musicians, even travelled and lived abroad to increase my perspective.

What worked for me, may not work for you. People change over time. Priorities change over time. I’m trying to improve my health and physical fitness in the post-COVID world. I still want to read more. I still want to better my career. I still want to improve my guitar playing and make more time for my hobbies and personal interests.

I’m not looking to become a guru, social media influencer or advice columnist, but you can read about the things I’ve done on this blog in an effort to improve myself and if you have questions you can contact me using email or social media. I still struggle with personal improvement.

Personal Content Marketing Strategy

My ongoing job search lately has lead me to do a lot of Googling and a lot of lying in bed unable to sleep, which sometimes leads to me getting up and sitting in front of my computer more. There are a lot of self proclaimed experts online, some of them actually know what they are talking about, some of them just talk a lot. Separating the wheat from the chaff is still a billion dollar problem online, as someone who continues to spend too much time online, here is how I manage my personal social media firehose…

Friday, January 8th, 2016

I put in the work and I ate less. It isn’t rocket surgery, people make it out to be to be some complicated magical process that requires a guru, a trendy diet, and the perfectly chosen gym outfit. Exercise more and eat less, it is that simple…

Squatting Away My Life

Monday, November 10th, 2014

I’ve been trying to keep busy, I have applied to so many job postings and of course looked at hundreds more. I’ve resumed studying for the CFA® Program and of course I’ve continued to workout at the gym, including following a squat heavy program that has become en vogue…
