I’ve finally gotten around to reading “Web Analytics 2.0” by Avinash Kaushik and part way through Chapter 3 I decided to check my Top 10 Landing Pages…

Although I’ve maintained a WordPress blog since 2005, I’ve only ever had the one theme. I made the theme myself back in the summer of 2005. I think a tutorial from Urban Giraffe may have provided the basis for my theme. I made sure my theme and entire blog fit within the already establish look, feel, and navigation of Muschamp.ca and I’ve dutifully updated the theme, every time a WordPress upgrade has forced me. I’ve also added many minor changes, but a look in the Wayback machine shows how little has changed until just the last few days…

Now that the great taxonomy redo of 2013 is mostly complete, I can get around to making all the other improvements and changes I’ve been considering to my blog…

When I started blogging, WordPress didn’t even have tags, now years later I have to invest considerable time and effort optimizing my WordPress taxonomy…

Just like the weekend before, I spent too much time in front of my computer appeasing the Googlebot, or at least the powers behind the Googlebot. Apparently it is necessary to be popular or at least prominent in search engines to be successful…
